According to reports from Indian media, Bollywood veteran actor, and Padmah Shri award winner, Om Prakesh Puri who appeared in mainstream commercial Indian, British, and American films died after suffering from heart attack at the age of 66. He appeared as General Zia-ul-Haq in "Charlie Wilson's War" which stars Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. His other films for international audience included My Son the Fanatic (1997), East Is East (1999) and The Parole Officer, City of Joy (1992), Wolf (1994), and The Ghost and the Darkness (1996).
Apart from performing character roles in Hindi Cinema, he also played diversified roles in television serials, Puri had an appearance in the highly acclaimed film Gandhi (1982, directed by Richard Attenborough).
