In a
country like Pakistan, if a political leader switches a political
party, he is called a 'lota' or 'thali ka baingan' but if a top anchor
switches a news channel, he is called spirited and dynamic.
So unlike American host Oprah Winfrey, who ran a single talk show for 25 years from 1986 to 2011, Pakistani anchors frequently switch allegiances. Having said that, from now on, the widely successful ARY anchor, Mansoor Ali Khan will now host the program, ‘To the Point’ for Express news.
The talk show will be on air from Friday through Sunday, at 10:00 pm.
Mansoor, an outstanding anchor, news caster and reporter was once a part of Geo News but left Geo to join BOL News as Senior Content Manager and Anchorperson in November 2014. After the Axact controversy, things went wrong for BOL and he had to leave. He later joined with ARY in August 2015.
A Political Science graduate from Government College Lahore with majors in English and History, Mansoor started his journalism career with Geo News in 2009. During the period of almost 6 years, he had covered lots of events for the channel including US Elections, Abbottabad Operation and Lawyers Movement in Pakistan.
He is also a big lover of Cricket and had covered T20 World Cup as host. Mansoor has also worked with Dawn News, and CNBC Pakistan. He recently moved to Islamabad from Karachi to remain close to his family & parents.
