Part 9: My Response to Asjad Bukhari’s Blog on Hoodbhoy Issue

My Response to Asjad Bukhari’s Blog on my article published in Express Blogs Part 9

My Apology and Media Darling

As far as the term media darling is concerned, I have not invented this phrase, it is already in use in the western media for an individual who is frequently invited by media to speak on various issues. It does not carry any negative connotation and is not derogatory as well.

My Apology

I apologize if I offended anyone with the word Pseudo liberal and have requested the express blog editor to replace it. And he has replaced it.
But Let me record that the frustration I felt during talk show reminded me of my school classrooms when some students used to argue a teacher's statements, he or she was pulled down by other students. Nobody was allowed to ask questions and everybody tried to please the teacher. I believe this attitude is responsible for most of our problems in Pakistan. And this is practiced in both traditional school and Madarsa system even in talk shows with the intellectuals.
I also apologize Junaid Bahadur Khan for publishing a sentence from our informal conversation about him. I acknowledge that it was a breach of journalistic principals. That sentence has been replaced in the original blog.

I believe real liberalism is promoting dialogues not taking the mike back from the one who want to ask questions. And I congratulate Mr. Asjad Bukhari that he has promoted dialogue through his blog.

Regarding Maulvi and population issue, I am open for more discussions via these blogs because they need considerably large space.
Thanking you in advance for acknowledging my point of view.
