Tazeen Hasan's interview for Cindy Sheehan Soapbox. A resident of California, Cindy has been a fierce anti-war human rights activist since 2004 when her son died in Iraq. Cindy has been running this radio show for about a decade inviting public intellectuals, authors, and human rights activists to talk about the simmering geo-political and social issues ignored by mainstream media.
The given podcast is dedicated to the Justice For All Campaign for the arbitrarily detained Kashmiri Prisoners and it encompasses the wider issue of human rights violations in the Indian-Administered Kashmir, the lawless legislations PSA, and UAPA through which India is imposing its Settler Colonial Agenda. The guest Tazeen Hasan, also discussed the Armed Forces Special Powers Act AFSPA through which India has given unlimited powers to armed forces to kill or torture Kashmiris. Situation of Pakistan-administered Kashmir was also discussed. Two cases were particularly focused i-e the arrest of human rights defender Khurram Parvez and the 34-year-long detention of Shabir Shah, 67, who is facing vulnerable medical conditions inside the notorious and very crowded Tihar jail during the pandemic.
